Nintendo Switch 2 Preorder Info – Please Read Carefully

Hiya Curiosity Peeps,

The Nintendo Switch 2 has officially been revealed! Preorders are expected to open April 9th, with the system launching on June 5th.

That said, please note: the April 9th preorder window is tentative. We are still waiting on product details and allocation information from our distributor. We hope to have everything in place in time, but until we do, preorders are not yet open.

We will make an official announcement the moment we are able to start accepting preorders.

In the meantime, please read below for everything you need to know.

🛑 Who Can Preorder?

Due to expected extremely limited allocations, we are only opening preorders to customers who meet both of the following criteria:

1. You have an active Core Supporter Membership (3+ months)

2. You’ve purchased at least one new, first-party Nintendo title from us in the past year

   
   

We know that’s a high bar. But we need to be real with you: even if you qualify, a preorder is not a guarantee you’ll receive a system at launch. Allocations will likely fall well short of what we request.

When allocations happen, priority will be determined based on:

1. The total volume of new first-party Nintendo games you’ve purchased from us

2. Your overall support of Curiosity Games across all categories

   
   

We’re doing our absolute best to take care of the people who have continued to support us—especially those who consistently buy physical media and shop small.

Even if you meet all these requirements and expect to be high on the list, we’d be remiss not to recommend that—if the opportunity presents itself—you should consider also preordering from a mass-market retailer that offers easy cancellations, just in case. If you’re lucky enough to score both, you can cancel with them. They won’t miss the order, but it could mean the world to us.

❌ Please Don’t Game the System

We know some folks might try to register an account today, suddenly buy up Nintendo titles, and expect that to guarantee them a spot. Please don’t do that.

Not only does it not work that way, it also creates more pressure and confusion for everyone—especially the people who’ve genuinely been with us long-term.

💸 Price & Version We’re Offering

• Price: $449.99

• Model: Base model only

• We will not be offering preorders for the Mario Kart bundle, as it includes a digital game. We don’t support digital distribution—if that’s what you’re after, we totally understand, but we’re not the right place for that.

We do hope to have preorders for the newly announced physical games available around the same time. We’ll post updates the second those go live.

📦 Looking Ahead

We hope Nintendo will be able to produce enough consoles that we can restock consistently throughout the year. But right now, we just don’t know. If we can’t fulfill your preorder at launch, you’ll remain on our list for future waves.

This is not the launch we wanted. It’s frustrating. It’s uncertain. And we wish we had a clearer path to getting everyone what they want, when they want it.

But we’re doing our best to honor the loyalty and support we’ve been given by this amazing community. To everyone who’s bought physical releases, traded in games, joined our membership program, and helped us build something real—thank you.
